Women's Health & Pregnancy
Women's Health refers to comprehensive women’s health care as well as health issues that are unique to women, including:
- Pregnancy
- Menopause
- Conditions of the Female Organs
Be sure to get early and regular prenatal care to ensure you have a healthy pregnancy. You should also get recommended breast cancer, cervical cancer, and bone density screenings.
Our goal is to ensure the health and readiness of all women at every stage of life.
Women’s Health Service
Women's Health & Pregnancy at the 436th Medical Group - Dover Air Force Base consists of Women's Health. We offer routine women’s care, wellness exams, and preventive treatment, including:
- Breast cancer screening
- Cervical cancer screening
- Ovarian cancer screening
- Contraceptives
- STI screening
- Preconception counseling
- Menopause
- Osteoporosis screening
- Premenstrual syndrome management
- Pelvic pain
- Heavy menstrual bleeding
- Polycystic ovary syndrome
- Dysplasia management
Pap Appointments
All Dover AFB active duty women are required to have their Pap performed in the women’s health clinic. Dependent women may choose to have their Pap performed by an off-base gynecologic provider if they are due.
If a woman has a Pap performed off-base and then requires additional evaluation, treatment, or follow-up based on conditions discovered during the Pap appointment, she must be seen at the Dover Women’s Health clinic.
Both active duty and dependent women are required to get all other routine gynecological care at the Dover Women’s Health clinic.
Depo-Provera Injections
Patients may walk-in for Depo-Provera injections Monday - Friday, 8 - 11 a.m. and 1 - 3 p.m.
Obstetrics Classes
Obstetrics orientation classes are offered to all pregnant families, men and woman, active duty and dependents on the third Wednesday of every other month, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.
Women’s health services not offered include: pregnancy care, pessary fitting, and infertility evaluation and treatment. Procedures not offered include: D&C, myomectomy, hysterectomy, LEEP, uterine ablation, urodynamics, laparoscopic surgeries, and ultrasounds. Patients will be referred off-base if they cannot be medically managed or need a higher level of care. All dependents can self-refer to have their well-women exams completed by an off-base GYN provider. They do not need a referral for routine care.

TRICARE Covered Services
TRICARE covers well-woman exams annually for women under age 65 with no cost-share or copayment. TRICARE offers coverage for many women’s health services, including:
