Dover AFB Warm Zone team, final line of defense for healthcare workers

Living and working on any military installation brings with it the real-life threat of chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear hazards. These hazards can come in many forms, from accidental spills to deliberate attacks. Regardless of the scenario, the Airmen of the Dover Air Force Base Warm Zone team stand ready to ensure healthcare workers can treat the wounded without becoming casualties themselves.

114th Fighter Wing 2021 Readiness Exercise

The 114th Fighter Wing executed a unique two-week Readiness Exercise (RE) that tested their ability to stand up an Aerospace Control Alert (ACA) sight, test Agile Combat Employment (ACE) skills on short notice, and facilitate Multi-Capable Airmen (MCA) training at Joe Foss Field, S.D. and the surrounding area from Aug. 3-13, 2021.

OST increases readiness, resilience

In August 2020, Dover Air Force Base developed the Operational Support Team, a five-person medical team that embeds into units for three to four months focusing on preventative care. The team is made up of a physical therapist, physical therapy technician, a social worker, a psychologist and a strength coach, providing on-site care, training and preventative fitness and mental health techniques tailored to each squadron’s needs.

One way to ensure this is to alleviate stress caused by family needs, such as child care.
